Theme: Buildings
This teaching material is designed to explore the buildings and local history of Henley-on-Thames and Burford. Through trails, photography, poetry, artwork and construction activities, pupils will learn about differences between buildings. The material investigates various styles/eras of buildings, and pupils can learn to recognise their different uses and building material. This teaching material can be taught in its entirety, or as separate sessions incorporated in other curriculum areas; it has many opportunities for cross-curricular links with Geography, Art and Design, Religious Education and Science. This unit of material promotes learning outside the classroom.
