Launch of second Ledbury volume

Lawrence Banks, Esquire, representing the Lord Lieutenant of Herefordshire, launched the second Ledbury volume at a well-attended event in St Katherine’s Hall Ledbury, on 28 April 2010.

Dr Janet Cooper, chairman of the Victoria County History Trust for Herefordshire, welcomed Mr Banks, Professor John Beckett, Director of the VCH, and other guests. She expressed the pleasure of the Herefordshire Trustees in the successful conclusion of the England’s Past for Everyone project.

Dr Sylvia Pinches thanked her fellow contibutors to the book – Dr Keith Ray, Dr Nigel Baker and Dr Janet Cooper. She also thanked everyone else who had helped with the research, writing and publication of the volume, especially the volunteers who had given so much enthusiastic help in so many ways.

Local bookshop, Ledbury Maps and Books, were on hand to sell copies of Ledbury: Parish and People before the Reformation, and everyone enjoyed the chance to mix and chatter over refreshments.
