England’s Past for Everyone in Herefordshire

About Us

In Herefordshire, two EPE projects were undertaken, both resulting in paperback books and web publication, as well as the development of learning materials for schools.

Ledbury: a Market Town and its Tudor Heritage and Ledbury: People and Parish before the Reformation explore new approaches to the study of this market town and use Ledbury’s rich stock of buildings to help demonstrate its development to local people, tourists and new residents. Dr Sylvia Pinches gained valuable expertise in communicating historical ideas to a wide public as curator of 78 Derngate, Northampton, the Georgain house radically converted by Charles Rennie Mackintosh for W. J. Bassett-Lowke. Read more in the Staff Profiles page .

The project partners included Herefordshire Council and the University of Gloucestershire.
