The Fishing Communities of Mousehole and Newlyn

The Mousehole and Newlyn project focuses on the international trade of these ports from the medieval period to the present day. A favourite Cornish toast at the end of the 18th century was fish, tin and copper and it was the first of these that brought prosperity to the most westerly Mounts Bay ports. Fish, fishing grounds and markets change, but Newlyn remains a centre of the fishing industry to this day.
