Identity and the City: A History of Ethnic Minorities in Bristol 1000-2001

Timed to coincide with the 200th anniversary of the abolition of slavery and entitled ‘ Identity and the City: A History of Ethnic Minorities in Bristol 1000-2001 ‘, the project looks at the impact of migration into the city for the past 1001 years.

The Bristol project team is led by Madge Dresser and Dr Peter Fleming (UWE), both respected authorities on immigration and slavery. Madge has contributed to many successful popular broadcasts on the subject.

The project partners include The University of the West of England.
