Exmoor is unique in that it has its own school curriculum; it is designed to embrace study of the immediate surroundings using the outdoors to extend and enrich the classroom experience.

The project was an investigation into the history and economics of farming and settlement in Exmoor between 1940 and 2006. The project encouraged the use of surveys, maps, field trips to a local farm, and continued in the classroom with ICT work. The pupils created an exhibition and leaflets detailing their findings.
